Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for Indian Forest Service Examination 2022. Candidates applying for the Indian Forest Service Examination should note that they are required to appear in the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination and qualify the same for going to the second stage of the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination. Eligible candidates can apply before 22-02-2022 (18:00 P.M).
UPSC IFS Exam Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for UPSC IFS Exam must check the number of vacancies and eligibility criteria (Nationality, Age Limit, and Educational Qualification):-
A. Vacancies
The number of vacancies to be filled on the results of the examination is expected to be approximately 151. The number of vacancies is liable to alteration. Reservation will be made for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Economically Weaker Section, and Person with Benchmark Disability Categories in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government.
B. Nationality
The candidate who is going to apply for the IFS Exam 2022 must have citizenship of India issued by the government of India. The following candidates can also apply for the exam –

| 2. | a subject of Bhutan, or |
| 3. | a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or |
| 4. | a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. |
C. Age Limit
Candidates having aged between 21 to 32 are eligible to apply for the exam. Age relaxation is given to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWBD candidates.
D. Educational Qualification
A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.
Application Fee:- Candidates are required to pay the fee of Rs.100 in any Branch of State Bank of India or by using Visa/ Master/ RuPay Credit/ Debit Card or by using Internet Banking of SBI.
