About Election Commission of India

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is a permanent and independent constitutional body established directly by the Constitution of India to ensure free and fair elections in the country. Constituted on 25th January 1950 , a day celebrated as National Voters' Day, the ECI is the apex body responsible for administering election processes in India.
