Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) , a flagship initiative under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, stands at the forefront of driving self-reliance in the Indian defence sector. Established to foster a culture of innovation and technology development, iDEX leverages the strengths of startups, MSMEs, individual innovators, R&D institutes, and academia. Its primary mandate is to engage these entities to develop new, indigenous, and futuristic technologies for the Indian military, significantly contributing to the 'Make in India' and 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' vision. Operating under the umbrella of the Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO) , a Section 8 company formed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), iDEX acts as an orchestrator for technological advancements. It facilitates various challenges and grants, such as the Defence India Startup Challenges (DISC) and Open Challenges, to scout for innovative solutions to critical defence problems. Pay Scale & Salary

Salaries for contractual positions vary based on expertise, experience, and project scope. For permanent roles through associated organizations like DIO or MoD, pay scales follow the 7th Central Pay Commission matrix, including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, and other benefits as per Central Government norms.
