The Indian Institute of Maize Research (ICAR-IIMR) , under the aegis of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), stands as India's leading institution dedicated to maize improvement and research. Established initially as the All India Coordinated Maize Improvement Project (AICMIP) in 1957, it was later upgraded to the Directorate of Maize Research (DMR) in 1994 and finally to the Indian Institute of Maize Research in 2014.
