About National Centre of Integrated Pest Management
The National Centre of Integrated Pest Management (NCIPM) is a distinguished institute under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), operating directly under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India. Established in 1988, NCIPM plays a pivotal role in advancing agricultural sustainability across India by focusing on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies. Its core mission is to develop, validate, and promote eco-friendly and economically viable IPM technologies, minimizing reliance on chemical pesticides and safeguarding both crop health and the environment. NCIPM's mandate encompasses a wide array of functions crucial for modern agriculture. This includes conducting frontier research on pest biology, dynamics, and management; developing decision support systems for pest surveillance and forecasting; formulating IPM modules for various crops and agro-ecosystems; and acting as a national repository of IPM information. Pay Scale & Salary
Salaries at NCIPM follow the 7th Central Pay Commission scales. A Scientist typically draws a salary in Level 10 (Rs. 56,100 - 1,77,500), while Technical Assistants are placed in Level 4/5 (Rs. 25,500 - 81,100 / Rs. 29,200 - 92,300). In addition to basic pay, employees receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), medical facilities, and a contributory pension scheme.
