About National Film Development Corporation of India
The National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC) , a Central Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, stands as a cornerstone in the promotion and development of Indian cinema. Established in 1975, NFDC was envisioned to plan, promote, and organise an integrated and efficient development of the film industry in India. NFDC's mandate significantly expanded in 2022 with the merger of key media units including the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF), National Film Archive of India (NFAI), and Children's Film Society, India (CFSI).
