Petronet LNG Limited (PLL) is a premier Indian government Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) playing a pivotal role in ensuring India's energy security. Incorporated in 1998, PLL was formed as a joint venture by four leading Maharatna PSUs – GAIL (India) Ltd., Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Ltd., Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) Ltd., and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) Ltd. – with the primary objective of importing Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and setting up LNG terminals in the country. This strategic collaboration highlights its critical national importance in India's evolving energy landscape. The core mandate of Petronet LNG involves developing world-class LNG receiving and regasification facilities. PLL operates India's first and largest LNG import terminal at Dahej, Gujarat, and another terminal at Kochi, Kerala.
