The famed Madame Tussauds wax museum is returning to India. Madame Tussauds museum was first opened in Connaught Place’s Regal Building in 2020 but was forced to close owing to the pandemic. The worldwide attraction is ready to reopen next month. The museum will be located in a Noida mall. DLF Mall of India, one of the country’s major shopping malls, would be its new destination.

Key figures to be displayed at Madame Tussauds Noida

Fifty Indian and international luminaries from sports, entertainment, history, and music will be featured at the new venue. Life-like statues of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cricketer Virat Kohli and entertainment star Kim Kardashian will be on display at Noida’s DLF Mall of India from this June. A few of the key figures to be displayed at Madame Tussauds Noida Uttar Pradesh embody Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chand Bose, cricketing legends resembling Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, Bollywood actors resembling Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Madhubala, and singers Asha Bhosle and Shreya Ghoshal, amongst others. Kids too can have a gala time with their favourite cartoon characters like Motu-Patlu and others.

Anshul Jain, General Manager of Merlin Entertainments that manages Madame Tussauds India said the wax statues, made with intricate details by experts in the field, will “encapsulate the essence of India”. To add to the attraction, he said there would be interactive experiences for visitors, who can also use props to click pictures. Each visitor will be charged an entry fee not disclosed yet and there won’t be any time restrictions.

London-origin Madame Tussauds first opened its doors in the year 1835 and has over 200 years of history and legacy. Each figure at Madame Tussauds is created by sculptors who use the same techniques as the famous Marie Tussaud. To create a single life-like figure an artist takes a minimum of 12 weeks.
