UPSC Civil Service Main Exam 2021 - Important Announcement

Union Public Service Commission has released a notification for the candidates who apply for the Civil Services (Main) Exam 2021. According to this notification, the result of the Civil Services (Main) Exam 2021 would be declared in the fourth week of March 2022 and Personality Tests/ Interviews of the candidates who qualify for the CSM-2021 will be started from the first week of April 2022.

Immediately after the declaration of the result of the written part of CMS-2021, the Detailed Application Form-II (DAF-II) would be made available on the official for a limited period of time. All the candidates who would qualify for the Personality Test/ Interview would be required to fill up and submit his/ her DAF-II within the given prescribed time limit. As per the Rules of the Civil Services Examination, 2021, submission of DAF-II (Online mode only) is mandatory and if any candidate fails to submit DAF-II online within the prescribed period, his/ her candidature shall stand cancelled and no request shall be entertained in this respect.

The UPSC Civil Services Examination is conducted for the recruitment to various Civil Services of the Government of India such as the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) among others. This exam is a gateway for candidates looking forward to joining Civil Services.

Civil Services Exam selection process includes two stages – Preliminary (objective-type paper) and Mains (descriptive paper and interview). The Main Examination will consist of a Written Examination and an Interview/ Personality Test.
