Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989: 5 years Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof (SC/ST): 8 years Widows, Divorced Women and Women judicially separated from their husbands who are not remarried (Unreserved): Up to 35 years Widows, Divorced Women and Women judicially separated from their husbands who are not remarried (SC/ST): Up to 40 years Educational Qualification: The candidate must have passed Matriculation Examination (10th Standard or equivalent) from a recognized Board. Candidates who have not acquired the essential educational qualification as on the crucial date are not eligible and need not apply. Number of Attempts: There is no restriction on the number of attempts for the SSC MTS exam, provided the candidate meets the age criteria and other eligibility conditions.
