Age Relaxation: An age relaxation of up to 5 years is provided for OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer), SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD), Transgender categories, and women applicants for the JRF award. Candidates with research experience may also be eligible for age relaxation based on the period of research. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a Master's Degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% for OBC-NCL, SC/ST, PwD, and Transgender categories) from a UGC-recognized university/institution. Candidates appearing in the final year/semester of their Master's degree or awaiting results can also apply, but they must complete their Master's degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of NET result declaration with the required percentage of marks. Ph.D. degree holders whose Master's degree was completed before September 19, 1991 (as per UGC notification), are eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%).
