North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, Shillong has released the notification for the recruitment of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor Posts. Eligible candidates can apply within 45 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in the Employment News.

Age Limit:-  Candidates applying for the post of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor should not exceed 50 years of age.

Educational Qualification
Anaesthesiologyi) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) A Post Graduate qualification e.g. M.D/M.S or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/ subject.
iii) 3 – 14 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD/ MS or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/ State Medical Council.
General Medicinei) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) A Postgraduate qualification e.g MD or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/subject.
iii) Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/ State Medical Council.
General Surgeryi) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) A Postgraduate qualification e.g MS or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/ subject.
iii) 3 – 6 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MS or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/ State Medical Council.
Hospital Administrationi) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) A postgraduate qualification e.g. M.D or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/ subject.
iii) 3 – 14 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/State Medical Council.
Medical Oncologyi) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) D.M (2 years or3 years or 5 years recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto in the respective discipline subject.
iii) 1 – 12 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of D.M. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) in the respective discipline/subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
Or
0 – 11 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty for the candidates possessing 3 years recognized degree of D.M. in the respective discipline/ subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/State Medical Council.
Nephrologyi) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) D.M (2 years or 3 years or 5 years recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto in the respective discipline subject.
iii) 1 – 12 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of D.M. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) in the respective discipline/subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
Or
0 – 11 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty for the candidates possessing 3 years recognized degree of D.M. in the respective discipline/ subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/State Medical Council.
Neurosurgeryi) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) M.Ch (2 years or3 years or 5 years recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto in the respective discipline subject.
iii) 1 – 12 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of D.M. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) in the respective discipline/subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
Or
0 – 11 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty for the candidates possessing 3 years recognized degree of D.M. in the respective discipline/ subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto. iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/State Medical Council.
Neurologyi) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) D.M (2 years or3 years or 5 years recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto in the respective discipline subject.
iii) One-year teaching and/ or research experience in a recognized institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of D.M (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) in the respective discipline/subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto. However, no experience is necessary for the candidates possessing the 3 years recognized degree of D.M or qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/State Medical Council.
Surgical Oncologyi) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) M.Ch. (2 years or 3 years or 5 years recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/subject.
iii) 1 – 12 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.Ch. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) in the respective discipline/ subject or qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
Or
0 – 11 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty for the candidates possessing 3 years recognized degree of M.Ch. in the respective discipline/ subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/ State Medical Council.
Urologyi) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) M.Ch. (2 years or 3 years or 5 years recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/subject.
iii) One-year teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.Ch. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto. However, no experience is necessary for the candidates possessing the 3 years recognized degree of M.Ch. or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/ State Medical Council.
Biochemistryi) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) A postgraduate qualification e.g. M.D or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/ subject.
iii) 3 – 6 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/ State Medical Council.
Blood Banki) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) A postgraduate qualification e.g. M.D or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/ subject.
iii) Six years teaching and /or research experience in Blood Bank with special training in Immunology, Haematology, Fractionation techniques, and clinical aspects of Blood Transfusion from a recognized Institution after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD in Transfusion Medicine or Blood Banking or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/ State Medical Council.
Cardiologyi) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) D.M. (2 years or 3 years or 5 years recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/subject.
iii) One-year teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of D.M. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto. However, no experience is necessary for the candidates possessing the 3 years recognized degree of D.M. or qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/ State Medical Council.
Community Medicinei) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) A postgraduate qualification e.g. M.D or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/ subject.
iii) 3 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/ State Medical Council.
CTVSi) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) M.Ch. (2 years or 3 years or 5 years recognized course) or a qualification recognised equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/ subject.
iii) Twelve years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.Ch. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) in the respective discipline/subject or qualification recognised equivalent thereto.
Or
Eleven years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of speciality for the candidates possessing 3 years recognized degree of M.Ch. in the respective discipline/ subject or a qualification recognised equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/ State Medical Council.
Dermatology and STDi) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) A postgraduate qualification e.g. M.D or a recognised qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/ subject.
iii) 3 – 14 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD or a qualification recognised equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/ State Medical Council.
ENTi) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) A postgraduate qualification e.g. M.S or a recognised qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/ subject.
iii) 3 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of MS or a qualification recognised equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/ State Medical Council.
Microbiology/ Paediatrics/ Pathology/ Physiology/ Psychiatry/ Radiodiagnosis and Imaging/ Radiotherapy/ TB and Respiratory Diseasei) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) A postgraduate qualification e.g. M.D or a recognised qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/ subject.
iii) 3 – 14 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD or a qualification recognised equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/ State Medical Council.
Ophthalmology/ Orthopaedics and Traumai) A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or part-II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in the part-II of the third schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in subsection (3) of section 13 of the Act.
ii) A postgraduate qualification e.g. M.D/ MS or a recognised qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/ subject.
iii) 6 years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD/ MS or a qualification recognised equivalent thereto.
iv) The candidate must be registered with the Central/ State Medical Council.
