Software Engineer III, Big Data

You will be responsible for building a scalable, reliable, operable, and performant big data workflow platform for Uber's data scientists/engineers, AI/ML engineers, and operations folks. Your key responsibilities will include: - Driving the usage of Freight's data model across the organization with multiple product teams. - Designing and implementing data integration services, best practices, and reusable frameworks. - Driving efficiency and reliability improvements through design and automation: data quality, performance, scaling, observability, and monitoring. Qualifications required for this role: - High School or GDE equivalent. - Minimum 3 years of related experience. Preferred qualifications include: - Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Computer Science and related fields. - 2+ years of software development experience. - Programming skills with Python OR Java. - Experience with distributed systems and services. - Keen interest in solving business challenges and a good understanding of how data empowers business stakeholders. - Good understanding of distributed systems and big data architecture (NoSQL/SQL, Kafka, Flink, Hadoop, Hive, Cassandra, Presto, etc). - Previous experien…
